Howard: We said goodbye to our beloved Howard in early February, 2026. 13-year-old Howard came joined the Leashes End family in September, 2024, the latest in a long string of senior Puggles to join us that year, giving us a good idea of what breed of puppy was popular in 2010-2011 timeframe. Howard’s owner passed away and his family did not want him. Rather than drop him at the PG County shelter, for fear he’d be put to sleep, the family asked if we’d take him. How could we not? Howard was such a good boy. He was not too bright, mostly blind, completely deaf, and suffering from severe dementia toward the end. For some reason, the other dogs like to pick on him! But Howard LOVED to run around the grass off leash and he really LOVED Kari’s food! Howard slept in his own bed in Margie’s room at night and stayed close to the kitchen during the day … you never know when some morsel or other might fall off the counter! RIP, Dear Howard; Z”L … may your memory be a blessing.
