Oliver: We lost Oliver to a stroke in the spring of 2026. Oliver had been with us since October, 2024 when Leashes End found itself in the rare position of having room for one more dog!  We decided to look at our partner shelters and find the oldest, ugliest dog in need.  Enter 17-year-old Oliver from MCASAC.  Well, we took him home, cleaned him up, had him vetted by our primary care veterinarian and seen by the board-certified cardiologists at CVCA only to discover that a) he wasn’t ugly at all under all that fur and b) he was not quite 17 … more like 14. Oliver was mostly blind and mostly deaf.  He also took pain medication for some seriously creaky hips.  But he loved soft beds, good food, and forays into the grass.  He showed his appreciation by bringing you a toy with a gentle wag of the tail, and slept well through the night in Risa’s bed with a few other cats and dogs. RIP, Oliver. May your memory be a blessing. Z”L.
