Bernie Mac (Moo Cow): Meet Bernie Mac passed away in the summer of 2025. A charming 13-year-old Shih Tzu, this sweet senior was initially adopted in 2011 but sadly found himself back with us after being surrendered to another shelter through no fault of his own. Despite facing several medical concerns, including cataracts, Degenerative Mitral and Tricuspid Valve Disease, Bernie Mac remained a resilient and cheerful pup. He endeared himself to both staff and volunteers, quickly becoming a favorite … especially of Kari’s. He made it to Florida and enjoyed the warm weather before finally succumbing to neurological events. RIP, Bernie Mackies; may your memory be a blessing.
